About the ABEL eCampus

ABEL

ABEL is wholly owned by the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants (the Institute).

The principal purpose of ABEL is to develop and provide through contracted delivery, the programmes and assessments required to be successfully completed by those persons who (after completion of tertiary qualifications and applicable professional work experience), seek to be admitted as members of the Institute.

The programmes and assessments are collectively titled 'The Professional Competence Programme' and comprise two parts. First is The Foundations Programme ― formerly known as Professional Competence Examination 1 (PCE 1). The second part is the CA Programme ― currently known as Professional Accounting School/Professional Competence Examination 2 (PAS/PCE 2).

ABEL consists of a small full time management team using a significant number of external experts as contractors who provide services covering activities such as:

  • Programme material development
  • Case study and workshop activity development
  • Examination setting
  • Assessment and examination marking
  • Workshop facilitation

The ABEL eCampus is managed under contract to ABEL by OnlineGroups.Net.

Those involved in the development of the programme, and its delivery, are high calibre, committed professionals who are willing to share both their knowledge and their enthusiasm for this innovative programme.
